History

Phoenix Print Finishing was founded in 1991, after the directors recognised there was a need within the printing industry for a fresh approach to finishing. They felt it had become the forgotten part of the industry, with a growing reputation for giving a poor service, so set out to give a friendly, professional service and to always put its customers first.

The company started in a 900 sq foot unit with seven employees, its strategy being to go for rapid growth by investing in good staff and new machinery. The company moved into a single unit at its present location in 1994, expanded into the adjoining unit within 18 months and into a third in 1999. During the next few years it took on two more units to give it a total floor area in excess of 8000 sq feet.

It purchased its first stitching line in 1995, up until which time all stitching had been done by hand, with further major investment in 2000 taking Phoenix into the B1 market. Since then the Company has continued to invest and currently has two Muller stitching lines, four Stahl folders and two Polar guillotines, in addition to other complementary and ancillary items of equipment.

In 2009 the Company diversified into laminating. It was already providing comprehensive saddle stitching and folding facilities but felt that investing in a top quality sheet-fed laminator would enable it to offer a more complete "one stop shop" service.
